Cocktails for Hope writes a letter to Governor J.B. Pritzker asking for cocktails-to-go sales.

Based on a statistical analysis by Cocktails for Hope, allowing this program could bring back roughly 51,000 jobs to Illinois. And boost revenue because cocktails provide 4x the margin of food sales.

Illinois has allowed off-premise restaurants to sell packaged goods to go. However, these restaurants can’t compete with Binny’s and other large packaged goods stores on price. Based on Illinois’ liquor system, distributors can provide discounts based on volume, and there is no possible way that a restaurant could purchase the amount to receive the discounts a large packaged goods retailer would receive.

We can hope the Governor falls in line with their request.
