Illinois Legislation proposes to make cocktails-to-go permanent

SB532 and HB3495 aim to make cocktails-to-go permanent in Illinois. Under previously passed legislation, cocktails-to-go was set to expire on June 2, 2021.

The legislation would also expand the entities that could offer cocktails-to-go. Specifically, craft distillers, wine maker’s premise license holders, brew pubs, and distilling pub license holders could deliver cocktails-to-go. In accordance with the present cocktails-to-go law, licensees that simultaneously hold any license to manufacture cannot sell cocktails-to-go.

Also, in accordance with the present law, third-party delivery services are prohibited, containers must be sealed with tamper-evident covers, and be labeled properly.

This legislation is extraordinarily positive, let’s make it permanent.
